Hi Guys, Tomorrow we'll be releasing Buildbox 3.0 Alpha 3 with some new presets, exporting, and new nodes Nik has been creating. We were hoping to have beta out fast enough and simply deliver that, but we had some issues with Open GL on about 10% of our tested machines that we needed to fix. That took up about one week were not planning on. Regardless, we heard you guys loud and clear and we're sending all MC2.0 customers this final alpha version tomorrow. We're also hoping to announce the BB3 Beta event this week, so everyone else keep an eye out for that.
Oh I’m good. I know how project crunch time can get crazy really fast. I did almost buy MC2 though. Should have pulled the trigger.
@TreySmith that is great to hear and thank you for the update! I was thinking though maybe having a weekly devlog or weekly blog describing all the setbacks and or things that got accomplished and plans for the week ahead would be helpful for the community. I mainly feel this would help everyone because then we would be in the know of what is going on instead of wondering and coming up with their own conclusions as to why things got delayed and as to why issues they are having aren't being addressed or resolved. Just some friendly thoughts/feedback. Take it as you want lol
Yes @thatguyminib I was talking with @Christoph today and thought that might be a good idea as well. Maybe a regular founder series blog and a dev blog so you guys can see direction and goals more.
I prefer to wait 1 month while fixing bugs, to be 1 month with failures and wait for them to fix them. Normally after Alpha 3, Beta 1 will come out, but that's what they said about Alpha 2. I think the Alpha or Beta versions are for testing, and should come out in due time, when most errors are fixed. There was a lot of talk about BB3, but there is also talk of PlayStation 5, for example, and it will not come out before, for many people who say they want the game console.
Awesome! Very happy to hear it. No worries at all on the wait. No point releasing something that we're unable to use to make a real game anyway. Really glad to see it released to MC2 customers though, so more testing can be done before it's released to more people. The devblog idea sounds awesome by the way, and is something I'd really love to see.
Nice! Could maybe also do like most software devs do and release STABLE and UNSTABLE versions. So we get to choose to download super buggy stuff.
Whew. Guys. Almost ready with Alpha 3 release. Just need about 6-12 hours to finish iOS export and then we can send Alpha 3. This is going to be a HUGE update. We fixed many crashes and issues. Added new nodes and most importantly got some cool templates for you to play with. Here you can see our new BB3 templates preview.
Just curious but what exactly is wrong with the export? Is the process just clunky at the moment? Thank you for the update btw it is good to be kept in the loop @NikRudenko
It was . After my fixes export in BB3 will be easy as in BB2. But before I had to make tons of moves and make sure all "binaries in right order".
