That looks very cool and really interesting. Not really sure WTF is going on LOL but definitely has a spectacular look about it
Hey @AndyG thanks! Yeah the basic concept is to just keep the objects as well as the character away from the vortex in the center of the screen and then touch the star to advance to the next level, but with some editing of this trailer I could prob make that more clear
Like a combination of Force Escape and Roto Strike. Good job! Be careful of too many objects and/or particles though they may cause performance issues in older devices.
Thanks @DariusGuerrero definitely Force Escape was part of the inspiration, but never played roto strike- about to download, it looks amazing. Also, thanks on the particle tip, I've been thoughtful of that, but I guess it's hard to know exactly when is too much- other than trial & error.
Yes, that's true. It helps if you've got an old phone too. If performance is not good enough for the old phone, reduce the effects haha. Or you can just deploy it to iOS 11 only to ensure only newer devices play your game. I've had games in the past that had these issues, and users with older phones gave me 3 stars because it lagged. I haven't used much particles ever since. But I do believe Buildbox 2.3.x would be able to handle this better in terms of performance, so it may not be a problem at all.
I like it very much! Maybe add some really cool sounds to the various incoming objects when they are defeated. Also some cool background music. I love the minimal look of the game
Hey @ThomasC for the vortex in the center, I would recommend making the particles go inwards in a rotating fashion to make it more of a "vortex" instead of the particles moving outward. Now how to accomplish that?... you would make maybe 6 particle effects that are on the outside of the inner ring and the effect would move towards the center point.
