Yes, you should pay for lisence. There are very good and cheap musics and SFX in audiojungle.

    hmmm
    confusing!!
Shouldn't this been taking care of when buying Buildbox, I mean Buildbox founders have already paid for all sort of thing..
If not we have to check not only sound but even all images license too

No, they didn't paid for the music that you will use in your game in the future.
And yes, you can't use an image, SFX, music and etc. created by someone without permission.

    No you don't understand
It is not the material itself it is just using mp3 need to take a license even if it is free or paid material it doesn't matter, even if you record it or created the sound by yourself
They are saying you have to pay for using mp3 technology

exactly, so what worries me now that if this is true and legit that You have to pay for usage of MP3 format and buildbox support only MP3

so the the questions is? each game You publish will cost You 2.500$ ?? i hope its not true but it look like this

I still dont know what to think about it :)

Nothing has happened to anyone till now who used mp3 in their games. And I am sure 90% of them don't even know this.. As Christoph said. Another of those things which we have to ignore.

If it became such a great issue, Trey would just have his team make its own in game sound file. .BBMOC or something. Where you would drag an MP3 over, it will convert to a BB format, and then implement in your game. BAM...no .mp3 anywhere to be found.

I actually have no idea why this is being talked about... I wasn't aware (nor have I ever been aware) of widespread panic about the mp3 police coming to get us... this is such a non issue, that spending any calories worrying about this is just your brain finding any excuse to not succeed. (but like @Andy said... i'm not a lie-er... oops... law-yer)

I think that policy from microsoft has been in play since the start of .mp3 files. And they havent killed anyone yet. Just put a policy agreement in your games that say "You are not allowed to decrypt or extract any content from this game" then when microsoft comes for you, sue them lolol

This thing is one of the thing you have to ignore, not because we don't follow the law but we can't afford paying that much for each game !!
    And as @Christoph said
Saying that I found this on the net
The bad news that it has been talking about making it serious matter, the good thing that it is taking care of by platforms like ISO and android but again as @heathclose said (i'm not a lie-er... oops... law-yer) :)
