    Hi Everyone,

    I am Kian Hozouri, Co-Founder of Mad Cow Studios, a digital development company in Southern California. We are happy to announce the release of our game Zombie Platoon on the Android Play Store and Apple App Store!

    Zombie Platoon is the first game of its kind to accelerate the development process for mobile games by utilizing BuildBox to create a completely 3D rendered mobile game!


    All elements in the game were designed from a 3D environment to increase the game’s quality of play. Creating rendered frame by frame character sprites from high poly models with biped rigged animations, allowed us to adjust and recreate fantastically detailed characters for the Zombie game; exponentially increasing ease of correction and furthering the project. This also enabled us to create the full layout of the environment in advance to plan the correct angles, and view-port for the game just like when creating a 3D title. This process gave us an elevated quality with detail that other Zombie games lack when developing 2D organic sprite characters. Often, pitfalls of 2D single frame image creation can create a painstaking process for corrections, and editing; however with our method, sprites could be edited and exported in a streamlined process without correcting individual renders.     Buildbox is a fantastic engine that allowed us to build this game around the engine's features to enhance the abilities of the game and hopefully enhance the user's experience. Buildbox’s presets of game play empowered us to be able to turn the Dog Fight gameplay into a vertical infinite runner with in-game pre-purchased power-ups (as well as 3 high poly rendered characters with various weapons). In fact, the preview images and icon created for the app stores are the very same models used in game!

The Buildbox engine has a vast potential to incorporate new and exciting games techniques that expand its 2D functionality. Ultimately, we want for more smaller game developers to utilize the tool with the same fashion we did to broaden the creative games that can be made with 2D engines and accelerate the production of those games.     The graphics are very good.
    The bad thing about the game, is the size, are 60Mb, with many Atlasses, which make the game slow down in some cases, especially when loading the game.
    You should also have more freedom in the character.
    Finally, make more game modes, for example levels, survival, Score.
