so in bb2, if I make a zig zag game... the game is set at -90 to start... and the world scrolls down as the character ascends... wouldn't it follow suit that if I change the direction to 90, the world would ascend and the character would scroll down? try it... nothing changes and the next scene doesn't load... am I missing something or is there a bug in the preset?
I don't seem to have the ZigZag preset its greyed out for me I believe I'm up to date though so how do you have it?
so - @heathclose - did you get an answer for that ? I 2 would like to research the possibility of using Zigzag bur for going down and not up.
Hey @heathclose and @eyal, it does work, there is just a little more to it than flipping the game direction. I had a little play around with a similar gameplay, not zig zag, but a jump one. Give me a few minutes and I'll see if I can dig out my template to see if it converts to zig zag okay.
Here you go @heathclose and @eyal. The first thing to note is the game direction. The default portrait (upwards) is -90º, so the flip of that would be -270º, not 0, as that would be default landscape. Next thing to change is the characters direction, because even though you've changed the game direction, the character still thinks he's going upwards. No problem. 1: The character has 3 advance moves attached to it advance move 1: On Start = so the character starts moving forward as soon as the game begins. I changed 20 to -20. advance move 2: Switch A- Switch B - character direction = also changed from 20 to -20 on the Y axis. advance move 3: Switch A- Switch B - character direction = also changed from 20 to -20 on the Y axis. 2: No need mate, just happy to spread the good karma Appreciate you asking though, thanks. Oh, I also changed the Game Frame from the botom of the screen to the top, as that's where you're starting from and you want the camera to track down.
Excellent work my friend - great believer in paying it forward. Some questions on the matter - can another action be added like jump ? can a different animation be played when going left right or forward ? Thank you @Phill Mason
I haven't played around with this yet, but I can see that on each advance move you add to a character, there is the option to edit the collision shape and at a different image/and or animation, so looks like that's what you need. Regarding the jump, I guess you just drop a jump button on the gamefield UI and unblock touch through.
ok yes u r correct - BUT I have placed it on the GameField and nothing happened. it only activates the switch
Also I have tried to change the camera view in ZigZag to get it closer to character and I can't. Is there a way around it ? Or maybe I just should set the game no on the preset but from scratch and then it will work ?
