So I am trying to set up a game that keeps score based on coins collected. It seems that if you change worlds in the game each world has its own coin count. Is it possible to have one global coin count per session instead of resetting the score to 0 moving into a new world?
hi if you use the last beta 5 you should be able to change to "world coins" in the pref. and also in the "ui" best to u
So I went to game field UI screen and added a label. Set Function to score, World to "All", Score Type to "Coins", and Amount to "Current". When it changes to a different world it resets the value to 0. I opened project settings, score type is "Coins Collected". There is no world coins option so I am not sure what you are talking about.
You re right there is no coins world in there pref In Label Score you have world option but me too the coins doesn't works on the gameplay only in the game over you may be found a bug what do you think @Andy
@viking Do you know how you got to that state? Talking about seeing the scoring options when it says "User Text" that is definitely a display glitch there. Are you using BETA5 there?
Here is what I have - I have it set to Score with World set to All but it resets to zero when the game goes to a new world.
Well if you use "total" and the game ends and you hit restart, it displays the coins earned previously. Each time they start a new game you want it to start at zero. In other words I was hoping to do is use menu jumps to go from one world to another and keep the same score going until the character dies. Is that possible or is each world constrained to its own score?
Yes, coins uses a running total because it is a currency. Points should be able to do what you want, if you have any trouble let us know.
