Dev Blog 2 Buildbox 2.3.3

Hello, Boxers!

Good news: Buildbox 2.3.3 is live. It was released on Tuesday, February 13th and is now available via auto-update or direct download from the official links in your license email.

With this new update, we added several major features to improve the stability and the overall performance of the software. Some of the notable improvements are listed below:

  • Automated crash reporting for Windows (Mac coming soon)
  • Added the ability to copy object groups
  • Fixed sharing of screenshots on Androids
  • Multi-selected and connected objects now pasted into adjacent layers
  • Updated legacy issues with deletion thresholds

Buildbox 2.3.3 Update

In Buildbox 2.3.3, we added automated crash reporting to help us respond faster and provide better solutions. This feature is currently available for Windows, but it’ll also be available for Mac users soon as well.

The ability to quickly copy object groups was also added. Multi-selected and connected objects are now pasted into adjacent layers to make scene editing simple. There have also been multiple fixes like the sharing of screenshots on Android. There are also improvements to the score label, the scene editor snap grid, controller keys, action sounds, character unlock options and more.

We’ve also fixed some old legacy issues with the deletion thresholds. All of the tolerance settings are tighter. With these changes, you’ll be able to reduce thresholds to increase your game’s overall performance. Also, we’ve included an option to ‘Stop BMG on Death’ in the settings for UI nodes, now that we have a close animation feature.

With this latest update, you now have access to scores from the code to use with 3rd party SDKs like analytics. We’ll also provide more information and tips on how you can use this option soon.

Thanks for the support everyone, and check back here for development updates on a regular basis.
