Hello,

When you compile the game in visual studio I getting the following error. Unhandled exception at 0x010B524E in Player.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x000000E0. I am using Visual Studio 2013 (version Pro) + the game is compiled for Windows Metro from BuildBox.

Remember you do not load the Player.exe file is VS you load the Player project file never the exe what you want VS to do is compile its own exe and the game. Make sure in your project settings you can read extended characters past 256 and place your folder on the C:\ if in Windows I dont use Mac so I cant help you there if you do but the closer you have your folder to the C:\ dive the less characters VS has to read but there is a setting that can make it ignore this in your project settings. The other problem I see you having is source not available this is because you need to point to the correct file and folders inside your VS project my wife goes to school for game programming and it took me 2 days of messing around with VS to help her with the settings once you understand how to add libraries and the correct includes inside project settings and know the difference between ARM, 32bit, 64bit, release, and debug then you can fix all of these problems you have under (project setting c++) It is my opinion that your trying to load the .EXE file in VS and the the actual Project File but at the end it of the day it should just load no brainer. Here is a YouTube Video of me doing the process to ease your mind about things.

P.S. Make sure you export (Windows) and not export (Windows EXE).

Hello, Thank you for your solution! The problem was in the encoding (256 characters) of the folder path. Solution was replace the folder on disk drive C: \ and everything is fine. Thanks again. Now I getting error in Windows Metro/Store solution, when switching to another scene: Player.exe has triggered a breakpoint. Any solution? Thanks.

I am getting Zero ERRORS from my exporting and compiling even though all my builds are just TEST Builds will never actually make something for production. well I mostly just export and compile for others for a fee but that is a different story to tell else where

Make sure you use Visual Studio 2013. Not Express version and download the latest SDK and updates I think the latest is 4 and then click on the VS Studio Project file. Load that and click run you should be fine after that but if you still have the same problem then you need to learn how to point to the correct dependencies files library folders etc. mines loads fine of the first compile so its not a problem with BB its your Visual Studio.

I re-install Visual Studio 2013 to version Ultimate. The error is still displayed. My steps: export game to Windows Metro, open project from folder, build from VS -> local machine -> release -> ARM, now is show app -> after few seconds show this message: Unhandled exception at 0x0009524E in Player.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x000000E0. Source not available. Output compilation: gamefield started as ROOT scene First-chance exception at 0x0009524E in Player.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x000000E0. Unhandled exception at 0x0009524E in Player.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x000000E0. The program '[6528] Player.exe' has exited with code 0 (0x0).
