It'll be great to add the following:-

1- choosing between "play once and disappear (fade out in given seconds)" , "play once and keep the last frame" , "loop"and "ping bong", You can't imagine how important is to add those little choices to animation editor, they will be super awesome and they can be used to push games up to the next level! (by the way: autohide in animation editor doesn't work and i don't know why)

 

2- adding character animations: "falling (not just jumping)", "landing (after falling animation just when the character touches the ground)", and "custom animations" that can be triggered with "logic" object
note: changing the scale value with logic object should be done gradually not sudden change in scale, it should be smooth.

 

3- action animation + character animation together at the same time, say that i want to make the power up itself play an animation and changing the animation of the character at the same time when it picks up the power up, it can be done now by adding two actions one of them transparent to trigger the character animation.

 

4- simple particle system as trail, the particle system is a basic feature and it is more important than trail effect, it'll be SUPER awesome to add this with the current available effects.

 

5- please stop all the animations after character death, everything stops except animations.

 

6- squash and stretch!, YEA, just adding elasticity parameter to the game play (character) settings, this is it! and the engine can squash and stretch the character automatically according to this value when jumping, and it'll save a lot of animation frames, Game like "Bounce" with squash and stretch effect will be amazing!

Buildbox is an AWESOME software and I'm very happy using it.

Hello

If making the death animation only play once is too hard then what about being able to change the duration of an individual frame of animation.

That way you could use the animation editor to make the last frame 20 seconds long.
