I made a game with  a distance score. When I chose distance score from the initial menu to count the score, then it counts forward and backward movements. When my character walks forward it counts (which is ok) but when he walks back again it counts too. In the game phases it ONLY counts the real progress of the distance in the game.

I then made a test and changed in the menu the score to coins. Now the distance score seems to behave correctly and ONLY counts the real distance. Is this a bug? And can I leave it that way or does this affect on device something that can't be seen in the preview?

Why is there even an option to change between coins and distance if I can choose whatever score from the labels anyway?

The reason for the difference in Coin and Distance in project settings is to tell the leaderboards what score to put up.

Which is your game direction? I can recreate this but theres no reason this should change between the setting.
