To make the number follow the character and stay put on the screen you need to use the menu editor to place a "default label " inside the game field switch the type to "Coin amount" and depending on how you want the font to appear align it to left, center or right.
Default labels in your scene will follow your scene and will disappear with your scene when the next scene comes into view.
Putting text into your scenes is good if you want to notify the user that something is coming, or for other notification purposes.
After you have done that.
The text should then appear and stay in the same spot throughout your whole game.
In your "coin object > advanced options" you can also set the amount to reward the player as well as the option to show reward and the duration that it will show. Keep in mind though, if you are using a game direction option inside your gameplay settings that the reward will appear to whatever direction your character is facing, so sometimes you might end up with backwards numbers!
As a preference when it comes to game/text objects like distance amount and/or coin amounts always use the Menu Editor > Game Field to do so (for in game display).
