Hey there,

Ive tried to set up a google leaderboard. When I start the game, right after choosing the email for signing in an error message pops up: "Google Play Services: app misconfigured". I can play the game after that but leaderboards dont work.

-I copied the Leaderboard ID, which looks something like that "LDmdjsggshfmsnMFms" in the Leaderboard ID field in Buildbox.

-I copied the App ID which looks something like that "893762530098" in the Game Service ID field in Buildbox.

-I also added testers in the google developer console and published the game and the leaderboard.

What did I wrong? Well Eclipse also shows this error message: "[google-play-services_lib] R.java was modified manually! Reverting to generated version!"

Is this the reason maybe? I read the guides for building Android apps many many times. Can you please help me? I am trying to figure this out for a few days now.

Thanks!

Thank you playzgames6666 for your time and help. I have just figured it out! :D I had to set up the License Key in Buildbox. Thought this is only needed for paid apps and has nothing to do with leaderboards. But well it is working fine now! You can find the game here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aiyaagames.dotdash

Cheers

Hey a question for you if i may? With your character selection, how did you set it up to have characters hidden? i have been trying to do this, but haven't worked it out yet.
  • Thisguy
Yeah I was searching this for few days, too. But it's just the Buildbox Update 1.3.5. It was realeased a day ago or so. There you can add "locked Animation" to your characters. Hope I could help!

No you only add sha1 fingerprint in google play services. when prompted too.

You don't need to turn on alpha testing, well i don't anyway.

Ok so you linked your app, then authorised your app, done all the correct ids.

Check in your strings.xml file that the app id is correct. (game services ID)

Thanks again for your quick reply! I checked strings.xml and the app ID is correct. 1. You think the problem could be this error: "[google-play-services_lib] R.java was modified manually! Reverting to generated version!" It pops up in eclipse console after exporting the apk. I couldnt find out how to solve this problem, too. Can I leave it like that? 2. Well and there are still these "Android Lint Preferences" errors, which I can ignore. But I dont know if its good to ignore them. I did it like in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5QtqSatZIM Does this matter or can I just leave it like that?
  • playzgames6666
no pretty sure that won't be it. I ignore all the lint warnings. I get the same warnings. It will be something in the google developer console. I know google a playing around and updating their console, so may be try it again. re do a new one (which means new IDS and unpublish the leaderboard already created) but it may be worth a shot.

Also, have you updated your SDK's in Eclipse. Give that a check as well.

is your APK signed.

leaderboard will only work with google services once the APK is signed then installed on your device.

Otherwise something is not right in your google service console.

Check that.

hope you work it out.

Thx for your quick reply playzgames6666! Yeah I exported a signed application package with eclipse and installed it on my device. There were many errors in "Android Lint Preferences" at first, but I clicked "Ignore All" and after that I could export it. Dont know, maybe these errors could be a reason? In the Google Service console I linked my APK (which is published as Alpha) to the Leaderboards. So I got the Leaderboard ID and the App ID which I set up in Buildbox as described in my first post. I added my email as tester and set up this green check under Alphatesters. After that I published Leaderboards and the Game(in Alpha). I also started a closed Alphatest for the APK where I include my email. When I try to sign in in Google Play Services with my tester email It still says that app is misconfigured. :( I never put SHA1 fingerprint anywhere in Buildbox. Could this be the reason? Many questions. Hope you can help.
